On 1 April 2026, the UKIPO is raising all official fees associated with filing and maintenance of UK patents, registered designs, and trade marks.
The UKIPO website contains comparison tables for patent, registered design, and trade mark fees which make clear that fees are going up across the board and in some cases, substantially.
With this fee increase on the horizon, March 2026 is a good time to review your existing portfolio of UK rights and to speed up any UK filing plans. You can take advantage of the lower current official fees whether you are considering new priority or standalone filings, or if you have registered design or trade mark renewals due before the end of September 2026, or patent renewals due in March, April, or May 2026.
